Soccer Recap: Watertown Comes Up Short

Watertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Cumberland County Jets, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Watertown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Cumberland County are ranked 51st).

Watertown's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cumberland County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2-2.

Coming up, Watertown will take on East Robertson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Robertson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last. As for Cumberland County, they will host Stone Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland County's defense better be ready for this one: Stone Memorial have averaged an impressive 2.8 goals per game this season.
