Soccer Recap: Sunnyvale Takes a Loss

Sunnyvale entered their contest against Community on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Sunnyvale came up short against the Community Braves, falling 5-1. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Sunnyvale couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Christian Hodges, who's now up to 14 this season.

Sunnyvale's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Looking ahead, Sunnyvale will face off against Caddo Mills at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyvale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season. As for Community, they will challenge Kemp at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Community has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 19 goals over their last three matches.
