Basketball Game Preview: Badin Rams vs. Archbishop Alter Knights

Badin hasn't had much luck against Archbishop Alter recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Badin Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Archbishop Alter Knights at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Badin needed a bit of extra time to put away Archbishop McNicholas. They secured a 55-49 W over the Rockets. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Rockets are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Alter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Patriots 64-46. 64 seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Badin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Archbishop Alter, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Things could have been worse for Badin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-36 loss to Archbishop Alter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Badin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
