Football Game Preview: Wapello vs. Sigourney-Keota

Wapello have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Sigourney-Keota at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Wapello and Sigourney-Keota will really light up the scoreboard.

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Wapello brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Van Buren 35-0. Wapello were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Meanwhile, Sigourney-Keota put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the game and then some with a 48-12 victory over Columbus. The success made it back-to-back wins for Sigourney-Keota.

Their wins bumped Sigourney-Keota to 5-2 and Wapello to 3-4. With both Wapello and Sigourney-Keota swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
