Baseball Game Preview: Palisade Bulldogs vs. Durango Demons

For the second straight game, Palisade will face off against Durango. The Bulldogs will face off against the Demons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Palisade will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Palisade is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Durango, who was ranked ninth at the time (Palisade was ranked fourth). The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Demons a 1-0 shutout on Friday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Danyel Ishida-Farmer was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Ishida-Farmer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Seriani, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Palisade's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Durango, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Palisade hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. However, it's not like Durango struggles in that department as they've averaged .390. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
