Basketball Recap: Crestview Takes a Loss

Crestview has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 73-62 to the Marianna Bulldogs on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Crestview lost, don't look at Jredyn Bufford. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Phillips, who put up 11 points.

Marianna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Mobley led the charge by going 10 of 15 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. Mobley's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nykavian Bradley, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Marianna, their record is now 11-2.

Crestview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-47 victory against Rutherford on the 28th. As for Marianna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-47 win against Lincoln on the 28th.
