Volleyball Recap: Hug Takes a Loss

Hug had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it eight. They fell just short of the North Valleys Panthers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for North Valleys, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 17, 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Caylee Soap, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Hug and North Valleys could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 81st) will meet Reno (ranked 15th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Valleys will square off against Spanish Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (80 vs. 9).
