Recap: Morningside Academy Eagles vs. Jupiter Christian Eagles
There's no place like home for the Morningside Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-39 win over Jupiter Christian on Friday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Morningside Academy considering their 25-point performance the game before.
Giuliana Bonasera was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Morningside Academy's points. Emmilina Miller was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine assists and four steals.
Morningside Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.8 points. As for Jupiter Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Morningside Academy will head out on the road to face off against Pineapple Cove Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Jupiter Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on NSU University at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
