Football Game Preview: De Kalb Bears vs. Grand Saline Indians

The De Kalb Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Grand Saline Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

De Kalb is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Hooks on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bears were outmatched by the Hornets and fell 49-22. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Dom Dunn put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 54 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Grand Saline had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Bulldogs, posting a 52-0 victory. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1081st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The loss snapped De Kalb's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Grand Saline, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
