Football Game Preview: ABF Academy Cowboys vs. Inlet Grove Hurricanes

The ABF Academy Cowboys will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Inlet Grove Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

ABF Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Archbishop Carroll last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cowboys lost 48-22 to the Bulldogs. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Inlet Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 62-0 victory over Palm Beach Christian Prep. That looming 62-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hurricanes yet this season.

ABF Academy better keep an eye on Demetry Hudson. He was instrumental in Inlet Grove's win, throwing for 444 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 17.8 yards per attempt. Cornelius Terry helped Hudson out on the ground, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.

Inlet Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Chris Darealist.

ABF Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Inlet Grove, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

ABF Academy might still be hurting after the 26-0 loss they got from Inlet Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cowboys, Tony Richardson (who picked up 185 receiving yards, and also rushed for 157 yards on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time.
