Basketball Recap: North Henderson Comes Up Short

North Henderson and North Lincoln squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but North Henderson had to settle for second. They were beaten by North Lincoln 84-46. While losing is never fun, North Henderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while North Lincoln is ranked 71st).

North Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Chandler led the charge by to rack up 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Chandler is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kellen Karr, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for North Henderson and nudges their season record down to 15-12. As for North Lincoln, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-5.

North Henderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huss at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 games -- so hopefully Huss likes a good challenge.
