Softball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Stevens Point

Stevens Point waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Chippewa Falls Cardinals as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Reegan Kedrowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Audrina Placeway was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Sophia Abundiz was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Stevens Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in six consecutive matchups.

Stevens Point's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Chippewa Falls, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Stevens Point will square off against De Pere at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chippewa Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
