Baseball Recap: Indio Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cathedral City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indio). They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Cathedral City Lions on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rajahs with their most commanding win of the season.

Jesse Arreola was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Julian Mandujano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Indio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cathedral City only posted an OBP of .118.

The win made it two in a row for Indio and bumps their season record up to 4-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Cathedral City, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Indio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Pioneer on the 15th. As for Cathedral City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Desert Mirage on the 17th.
