Volleyball Game Preview: University Hawks vs. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers

After both having extra time off, the University Hawks and the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

University not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Capital Prep as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Trailblazers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Sports & Medical Sciences Academy made easy work of Bulkeley on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While Sports & Medical Sciences Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-22.

University's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

University suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sports & Medical Sciences Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
