Baseball Recap: Barberton Takes a Loss

Barberton lost against Tallmadge back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Magics lost 9-1 to the Blue Devils. The defeat leaves the Magics still looking for their first win of the season.

Barberton got a good showing from Jayden Patterson, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs Patterson has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Barberton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Javon Clayton, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Clayton's first of the season.

Barberton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tallmadge, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barberton will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Northwest at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tallmadge, they will challenge Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Black Tigers at the right time seeing as the Black Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
