Basketball Recap: Staples Takes Down Ranked Ridgefield

On Wednesday, Staples faced Ridgefield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Staples Wreckers walked away with an 81-69 victory over the Ridgefield Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Wreckers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Staples' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Tobias led the charge by going 8-for-10 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. Those 21 points gave Tobias a new career-high. Dhilan Lowman was another key player, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 20 points and three steals.

Staples' win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Ridgefield, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 15-1 and their overall record down to 17-4.

As of now, neither Staples nor Ridgefield have any future games scheduled.
