Baseball Recap: Taylorsville Wins Going Away Against Kearns

While Taylorsville put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Kearns. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-0 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Cole Kramer made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Taylorsville is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-9 otherwise. Kramer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holden Cottle, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Isaac Woolley was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Taylorsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win snapped Taylorsville's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-10 record. As for Kearns, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Taylorsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
