Basketball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Victorious

The third road match was the charm for Atlantic Shores Christian, as they earned their first road win of the season. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators by the margin of a single free throw, 35-34. The Seahawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gators, too.

Greenbrier Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bayleigh Kaliher, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals. Kaliher has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Balka, who posted four points in addition to ten blocks and seven boards.

The win got Atlantic Shores Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic Shores Christian will square off against Cox at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic Shores Christian is facing Cox at the right time seeing as Cox is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will face off against Hickory at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenbrier Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Hickory's offense will have their work cut out for them.
