Volleyball Game Preview: Jefferson Cavaliers vs. Washington Warriors

The Jefferson Cavaliers will face off against the Washington Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Washington will be coming in after a defeat.

Jefferson not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Roosevelt.

Jefferson's got stronger as the match went on, holding Roosevelt to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Washington faced Brandon Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Warriors fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 3-2. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Lynx since Tuesday.

Washington wouldn't go down easily and took Brandon Valley into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14.

Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Washington, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
