After a string of five wins, Nueva Esperanza's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Tacony Academy Charter Lions by a score of 3-2.

Nueva Esperanza actually scored more points across those five sets (101-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-25, 15-7.

Nueva Esperanza's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Tacony Academy Charter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Nueva Esperanza does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tacony Academy Charter, after both having extra time off, they and Saul will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
