Softball Recap: Livermore Triumphs

Livermore never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Newark Memorial Cougars by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Kaci Norton's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Sophia Gerochi was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Pyke, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Livermore now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newark Memorial, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Livermore didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Alameda on the 20th. As for Newark Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-3 win against Northgate on the 20th.
