Floydada is a perfect 3-0 against Quanah since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Whirlwinds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Floydada is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over Clarendon on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Whirlwinds, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Quanah had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Memphis get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Indians' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Austin Whitmire made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Whitmire was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Quanah is 2-1 when Whitmire posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Quanah let Caleb Martinez and Andrew Majors run wild. Martinez went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Majors went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Majors a new career-high. Rhett Hamby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Quanah picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-13. As for Floydada, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Floydada got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 3rd against Quanah by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Whirlwinds repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
