Softball Recap: Northeastern Takes a Loss

Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the New Oxford Colonials. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bobcats have suffered against the Colonials since May 2, 2022.

Northeastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Himes, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Himes also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for New Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Northeastern will be playing at home against William Penn at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for New Oxford, they are taking a road trip to take on Central York at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Colonials surely won't give up without a fight.
