The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers will head out to square off against the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will be strutting in after a victory while Westbrook-Walnut Grove will be coming in after a loss.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton turned things around against Edgerton on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Flying Dutchmen. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since September 18th.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-104), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 15-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Westbrook-Walnut Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Windom by a score of 3-2.
Westbrook-Walnut Grove actually scored more points across those five sets (108-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-11.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will have to contain Leah Vandewiele as she made an impact in Westbrook-Walnut Grove's last game. She had 19 digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ambrosa Yang, who had ten digs and one assist.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's win bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Westbrook-Walnut Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9-2.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton beat Westbrook-Walnut Grove 3-1 when the teams last played back in November of 2016. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
