Basketball Recap: Van Nuys Extends Winning Streak to Four

Van Nuys had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Panorama Pythons by a score of 52-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-54 two weeks ago.

Van Nuys' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Gervacio, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and three steals. The matchup was Gervacio's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Steven Tu was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Van Nuys was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panorama only posted nine assists.

Panorama's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Raphael Latorre, who had 17 points and three steals, and Eddie Munguia, who put up seven points along with seven boards and three steals. What's more, Munguia also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Christian Vargas, who scored four points.

Van Nuys now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Panorama, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Van Nuys nor Panorama have any future games scheduled.
