Football Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center was the 17-14 winner over Madisonville when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Roughriders took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Friday. The contest marked the Roughriders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Center lost, don't look at Jeremy Bluford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 116 yards. Decaden Cooks was in the mix too, providing the Roughriders with one score.

Center now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Madisonville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Center and Madisonville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Roughriders see the field they'll take on Carthage at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Madisonville, their break will end when they face La Grange at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
