Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Comes Up Short

The Penn Cambria Panthers lost to the Greater Johnstown Trojans at home by a 64-48 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Trojans are ranked fourth).

When it comes to explaining why Penn Cambria lost, don't look at Caden Gibbons. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Gavin Harrold was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Penn Cambria has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Greater Johnstown, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Penn Cambria Panthers take on the Chestnut Ridge Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greater Johnstown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-41 win against Bellefonte on the 3rd.
