The Soroco Rams and the Hayden Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Soroco Rams had to settle for second. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Soroco in their matchups with Hayden: they've now lost four in a row.
Soroco lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rachelle Dudley, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Alyana Edwards, who scored nine points.
Hayden found their leader in underclassman Taryn Schlim, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Schlim hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Harris, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Soroco's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Hayden, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
Soroco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hayden, they will face off against Rangely at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Rangely will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Hayden surely won't give up without a fight.
