Merkel's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-9 win over the Stanton Buffaloes. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Badgers considering their 13-point performance the game before.
Merkel was led to victory by Easton Malone and Cj Guadarrama. Malone threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes, while Guadarrama rushed for 92 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Those 92 rushing yards gave Guadarrama a new career-high.
