Volleyball Recap: Johnson-Brock Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Daley Pelican and Isabell Bishop

Johnson-Brock lost against Elmwood-Murdock back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Knights. The loss put an end to the Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

Johnson-Brock started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 25-11, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Johnson-Brock had strong showings from Isabell Bishop, who had 14 digs and three assists, and Daley Pelican, who had 12 digs, eight kills, and three aces. Pelican is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Johnson-Brock fell to 3-1. As for Elmwood-Murdock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Johnson-Brock will host Pawnee City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they will challenge Sterling at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
