Volleyball Game Preview: Chatham Cavaliers vs. Nelson County Governors

The Chatham Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Nelson County Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Chatham is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Appomattox County just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 3-0.

While Chatham was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Appomattox County's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Nelson County lost 3-0 to Gretna on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 25-13.

Chatham's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Nelson County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Chatham skirted past Nelson County 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
