Football Recap: Point Pleasant Boro Finds Home Field Redemption Against St. John-Vianney + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Point Pleasant Boro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. John-Vianney Lancers on Friday, sneaking past 14-12. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Point Pleasant Boro can attribute much of their success to Jake Clayton, who rushed for 129 yards on only 14 carries. That's the most rushing yards Clayton has posted since back in September of 2024.

Point Pleasant Boro's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.0 points this season. As for St. John-Vianney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant Boro will head out to challenge Jackson Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. John-Vianney, they will square off against Manalapan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
