Basketball Recap: Samueli Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Orange

Samueli Academy had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Orange Panthers, falling 63-30. The defeat continues a trend for the Firewolves in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Samueli Academy lost, don't look at Gabe Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he posted ten points.

Sebastian Nunez was nothing short of spectacular for Orange: he went 10-for-12 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Those 22 points gave Nunez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Cruz, who shot 63% from the field en route to 10 points.

Samueli Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-29 loss against Century on the 19th. As for Orange, they will venture away from home to square off against Dominguez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
