Basketball Recap: Wayne Academy Takes a Loss

Wayne Academy's last matchup with Starkville Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Jaguars were beaten by the Volunteers 60-24. The loss leaves the Jaguars still looking for their first win of the season.

Wayne Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Starkville Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Wayne Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will be up against the Stingrays' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Starkville Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Christ Covenant at 7:00 p.m.
