Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Beaumont School Blue Streaks
The Trinity Trojans fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Beaumont School Blue Streaks on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Streaks. Trinity has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity lost, one person who can't be blamed is Neva'eh Harrison. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrison has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Iniya Charlton, who scored eight points along with four steals.
It was another big night for Mackenizie Callender, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds for Beaumont School. Callender is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Shannon Shea was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Beaumont School, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beaumont School, they will head out on the road to face off against Padua Franciscan at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Padua Franciscan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday.
