Basketball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Bishop Carroll Huskies

Forest Hills and Bishop Carroll are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Forest Hills Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bishop Carroll Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Forest Hills has ten straight wins, Bishop Carroll has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Forest Hills is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Hollidaysburg: they outscored them in every quarter. Forest Hills greeted the New Year with with a 67-51 victory over Hollidaysburg. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Golden Tigers are ranked 78th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brandon Gregovich was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 11 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Koy McGough, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-39, which was the final score in Bishop Carroll's tilt against Bishop Guilfoyle on Friday.

Forest Hills pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bishop Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Forest Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Carroll when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 81-71. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bishop Carroll's Luke Repko, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be easier for Forest Hills to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
