Baseball Recap: Rhinebeck Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Rhinebeck ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Ellenville Blue Devils 3-2. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

John Haight was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Rhinebeck is undefeated when Haight posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

Rhinebeck's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Ellenville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rhinebeck will head out to square off against New Paltz at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Ellenville, they will venture away from home to take on Tri-Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
