Soccer Game Preview: Ellet vs. Garfield

The Ellet Orangemen will challenge the Garfield Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Ellet's last matchup might've seen eight goals scored, but the final result was still a bit underwhelming. They and Washington finished up their match with a 4-4 draw on Tuesday. An excellent three-goal performance from Samwel Matendo still wasn't enough to secure a win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garfield). They put the hurt on Buchtel with a sharp 10-2 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Garfield in their matchups with Buchtel: they've now won four in a row.

Ellet's draw gives them a new season record of 5-7-4. As for Garfield, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Everything went Ellet's way against Garfield when the teams last played back in September, as Ellet made off with a 5-0 win. Will the Orangemen repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
