Basketball Game Preview: Central Wildcats vs. Scotlandville Hornets

Central is 0-10 against Scotlandville since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Central Wildcats will take on the Scotlandville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Scotlandville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.

Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Zachary, who was ranked fourth at the time (Central was ranked 20th). Central walked away with a 78-71 win over Zachary on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Scotlandville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 78-42 loss at the hands of Liberty Magnet. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.

Central will need to focus on slowing down Joe Tate, one of several Scotlandville players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Jones, who had six points.

Scotlandville's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 28-6.

Central came up short against Scotlandville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 63-56. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
