Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Allison Caplinger and Mattea Maggio

Faith Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 67-47 to the Benton Central Bison. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Bison are ranked 112th).

Despite the loss, Faith Christian had strong showings from Mattea Maggio, who posted 25 points and three steals, and Allison Caplinger, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Those 25 points gave Maggio a new career-high.

Faith Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Benton Central, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Faith Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-32 defeat against Fort Wayne Northrop on the 11th. As for Benton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-28 loss against McCutcheon on the 9th.
