Towanda has gone 9-1 against Athens recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Black Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m.

Towanda is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Northeast Bradford just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 47-45.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens). They blew past Sayre 61-11 on Tuesday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 48-point advantage.

The victory made it two in a row for Athens and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Towanda, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Towanda was able to grind out a solid victory over Athens in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, winning 34-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
