Soccer Recap: Morenci Comes Up Short at Home Against Desert Christian

Morenci unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 6-1 to the Desert Christian Eagles on Thursday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Wildcats were already down 6-1.

Their goal came courtesy of Armando Lopez Rivera.

The win made it two in a row for Desert Christian and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Morenci will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tombstone at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Desert Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against San Miguel on the 10th.
