Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

If Madison was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Milbank on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Chester Flyers on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Madison was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Lydia Nelson and Jaya Engels, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Karley Theede C and her 30 assists. Ella Malone controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Chester, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-1.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Sioux Falls Christian on the 18th. As for Chester, they will square off against Sioux Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
