Football Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland Park can now relate to. They took a blow against the De Soto Wildcats on Friday, falling 49-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scots have suffered since November 1, 2024.

Dontrail Fox threw for 36 yards on six of 19 attempts. On the ground, Ghoni Montgomery rushed for 71 yards.

A big part of De Soto's victory came down to the chemistry between Ben Parks and his top target Will Morton. Parks rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries while Morton rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. What's more, Morton racked up eight receiving yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

The loss snapped Highland Park's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for De Soto, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
