Volleyball Recap: St. Teresa Takes a Loss

St. Teresa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos.

St. Teresa was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Cerro Gordo/Bement work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 26-24.

St. Teresa's offense was headlined by Emma Douglass and Sophia Koester, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Elia Smith and her 18 assists. Ashlen Grayned controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Teresa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

St. Teresa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Shelbyville on the 25th. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Argenta-Oreana on the 23rd.
