Football Recap: Akron Beats Mancos for Their 11th Straight Win

With a playoff win on the line, Akron rose to the challenge on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mancos Bluejays 62-26. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Akron got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolten Randel out in front who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 82 yards and four TDs. Randel's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Jace Curtis was another key player, gaining 191 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Akron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Akron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Randel led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

The victory keeps Akron at an undefeated 11-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.9 points on average this season. As for Mancos, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Akron wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 39-16 victory against Sanford on the 22nd. Mancos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
