It's playoff time, and Fernley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Lowry Buckaroos 50-28 on Thursday. Considering the Vaqueros have won seven contests by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Keeshawn Love produced another solid performance rushing for 269 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Fernley proved: they limited Lowry to a paltry 2.2 yards per carry. While four picked up at least five total tackles, Isaiah Mutte stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made five total tackles. Fernley didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Fernley, adding 18 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Noah Spencer: he added 18 points with six field goals.

Lowry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryder Huitt, who picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Connor Peterson was another key player, throwing for 193 yards and four touchdowns.

The win was the third in a row for Fernley, bringing their record up to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Lowry, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Fernley will face off against Churchill County at 7:00 p.m. on November 8. The Greenwave's defense has only allowed 6.8 points per game this season, so the Vaqueros' offense will have their work cut out for them. Lowry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
