Volleyball Game Preview: CORE Butte Lynx vs. University Prep Panthers + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the CORE Butte Lynx and the University Prep Panthers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

CORE Butte took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Burney. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

CORE Butte walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-13, 26-24, 25-23.

Meanwhile, University Prep made easy work of Anderson on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

University Prep was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-18.

CORE Butte better keep an eye on Campbell Cogle. She was instrumental in University Prep's win, getting eight digs and three aces. Those eight digs gave Cogle a new career-high.

University Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive matches.

CORE Butte's record now sits at 18-7. As for University Prep, their record is now 27-8.

CORE Butte might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from University Prep when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Can the Lynx avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
