Softball Recap: Boulder City Eagles vs. Western Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Timpanogos, Boulder City was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Western Warriors. That looming 19-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Payton Rogers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kylie Czubernat was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Leona Merrill was another key player, scoring three runs.
Boulder City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western only posted an OBP of .273.
With the win, Boulder City broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. As for Western, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Looking ahead, Boulder City will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against The Meadows School at 3:30 p.m. Boulder City's pitchers better be ready for this one: The Meadows School has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Western, they will head out to challenge Canyon Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
