Softball Game Preview: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Lakeland Chiefs

The Western Wayne Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeland Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Western Wayne will be strutting in after a victory while Lakeland will be coming in after a loss.

Western Wayne will bounce into Monday's game after beating Dunmore, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats came out on top against the Bucks by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 11-4 to Old Forge.

Lakeland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamri Naniewicz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Mandy Magnot also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Western Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

Western Wayne came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeland when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
